What is Stampwork
Stampwork was invented by Navajo silversmiths in the 1880s. A stamp is made by engraving a pattern on the end of a sawhorse and then striking the sawhorse against a silver surface to create a variety of designs. All the stamps are handmade and each artist has his own unique style.
A small mountain tribe living in Myanmar and northern Thailand. The purity of the silver is 95-99.9%, compared to 92.5% for most silver jewellery. The use of high purity silver makes it softer and allows for finer workmanship. This results in finely crafted artistic pieces.
Karen silver comes in a variety of shapes and carvings, designed to resemble everyday plants, fish or household objects. It is also used as a talisman to protect against evil spirits and as an eye to watch out for misfortune.
